Hey, guys! It's February in the North Country ...which means we are battling annoying head colds, fantasizing about warmer weather, and getting ready for Valentines Day! In this edition of tjwritesitdown I'm going to give you my thoughts on V-day, let you in on some personal goals of mine for the Summer, clue you in on some updates regarding the future of my "Esoteric Entries"- and also leave you with a bit about Astrology.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Valentines Day is mostly known for the idea of highlighting and celebrating the romantic love between you and your partner. If you're single it's just kind of a great excuse to buy candy and chocolate for yourself. If you are with someone you really love and are feeling good about it, it's a great excuse to get comfy, eat food and have sex. God bless the people in relationships out there and allow me to wish you the best of success. If you're single, God bless you as well, and ENJOY the time you have alone... because soon enough you may find yourself sharing your life with someone else, and that can be a major pain in the ass.
My point here is that Valentine's day doesn't have to be just for people who are in romantic relationships. Just cause you're not in a "romantic" relationship, doesn't mean you can't express love to someone or something you care about. Valentine's Day is about LOVE - in and of itself.
Whether you're in a relationship or not - let this be a moment of clarity and positivity to you. Love is love is love.
The history of Valentines Day is actually kind of inspiring and exemplary of the kind of love I think we need more of in this world... I didn't do too much research into this so please fact check me if you like - but one legend I came across was pretty cool:
St. Valentine was scheduled to be executed (martyred) back in the day for something to do with wanting to bang girls and be in relationships, etc while all the other soldiers were fighting and forbidden to do that kind of thing during wartime. Valentine was also a devout follower of Christ which was a risky thing to do back then as well... However, despite all that, Valentine managed to become friends with the jailer who was responsible for maintaining his security before his execution. The jailer and St. Valentine remained friends up until the time of his death. In one last illustration of his dedication to Truth / Love Valentine performed a miracle as a token of appreciation of the jailer's kindness:
St. Valentine cured the jailer's daughter of her born blindness. After the jailer had witnessed the amazing feat he no longer questioned the word of Valentine's teachings / way of life or whatever - and as a result the jailer's entire family converted to Christianity and started following the word of Christ. (They became convinced of a higher power and started actively believing in it) -
The night before his execution Valentine wrote a short letter to the jailer's daughter - he signed it "your valentine." - which is where we get the concept of exchanging cards and notes on V-day.
This is such a beautiful thing in my eyes. Valentine offers his love, friendship, and miraculous abilities even in the face of death. He did something amazing for someone who in essence was putting him to death. He stood up for what he believed in and carried it with him until he was executed.
Instead of being all like, hey u know people don't like me, I better try to change and do what's expected - he was all like eff that I love love, and u know what, here's you daughter's sight back too just cause I'm that kinda dude. yessss! Isn't that just the most righteous thing?
I'd like to think that every time we use the term "Valentine" on this day it's making reference to the idea that TRUE love is forever, and limitless, and invincible. A.K.A. - unconditional.
Take this sentiment with you this Valentine's day. Who or what do you love in your life? Is there anything you love without question, no matter what, in the face of all odds, despite anything at all? Family? Friends? Your significant other? Your pets? Your things? Your style ....Yourself?
Take a minute to acknowledge the things that bring you love without question or condition - the things in your life that make you believe in true unconditional love. Be also thankful for the ability to show your appreciation for these things!
In closing I wish you all a very awesome Valentines Day. Many blessings and Cadbury eggs upon you!

This Spring has found me particularly successful in certain realms and I'm thinking of making some major changes. I'd like to either finance a house or get an apt. by the Fall so I can gear myself toward going back to School. I have been accepted to NCCC for the Fall Semester and I feel like it's a good time in my life to continue my education. County has treated me very well thus far and I don't want anyone to take this as a "moving on" or anything like that. My aim is to continue on and adapt as best I can... retaining County as my main source of income.
Anyway the point of this segment is my own invitation of sorts to anyone who thinks they may benefit from gaining a roommate in the Fall... In my most ideal world I would like to continue my service to others at CCNH, while pursuing my RN, and offering esoteric services on the side.
I will be going to NCCC Saranac Lake campus so the best thing in order to keep the commute to a minimum would be to find a place between the two areas - Saranac / Morrisonville at the least.
If you're thinking about pursuing higher education yourself and daring enough to jump on the coat-tails of fate please let me know. NCCC offers a bunch of avenues for higher education (including LPN and RN) and this could work out really awesomely for the right person.
I have all my books and notes from my time at CV-tech and would be glad to help anyone out if they are thinking of going into Nursing. Despite my demeanor I am actually quite knowledgeable and have a way of making good things happen. : )
Just f.y.i. - I don't do the party thing much and prefer honest upfront dedicated types as opposed to people who are just looking to get by for a couple months... I'm an idealist with big ideas but sometimes lack the discipline to get things off the ground, so someone who knows how to focus / reign in my scattered energies would be nice (especially for school work lol) I'm also a practicing occultist / new ager, which really shouldn't get much in the way of your business, but may seem odd at times. I love music and anything creative. I have a son that I try to spend as much time as possible with, but during those times I will most likely be in Plattsburgh.
If you're a straight shooter considering a change in life and think you can deal with me let me know.
Any ideas / thoughts / considerations / concerns are welcome - if this sounds like something you could work with give me a shout. An issue shared is an issue halved - I can't GUARANTEE anything solid at this moment - I'm just thinking out loud for right now... but I CAN say if it feels right and seems legit, it's very likely to be fortunate and prosperous.

So after some consideration / contemplation I have decided to veer off into a more "practical" / "user friendly" type of format concerning my Esoteric Entries / Occult Advice. I don't want to come off too much like I'm trying to convert people, thinking my beliefs are better than anyone else's, etc.
In the future you can look forward to things more akin to quick snippets, friendly day to day advice, thoughts, meditations, affirmations, etc... and less of a "how to" in supernatural studies.
- I think the people who get this stuff will naturally find their way here, and I will allow the chips to fall where they may. That being said - my "Esoteric" entry this week will be on Astrology.
Since it's Valentine's Day I figure it would be nice to explain a little bit about Astrology and Compatibility... I'm by no means an accomplished astrologist, but I know enough to give you some food for thought:
Most of you probably know your Astrological sign and what it means to be "you" in those terms... Some of you might know more depending on your level of interest. For those of you who aren't as familiar, allow me to explain...
The Science of Astrology essentially proposes that the conditions of celestial bodies, planets, stars, etc can be used to determine earthly, "terrestrial" occurrences and patterns, even down to an individual's habits and tendencies. This information can be used to size people up and get a grasp on how they relate to one another...
In terms of compatibility - generally speaking they say that Fire signs go best with Air signs, and Earth signs go best with Water signs. This is just a guideline - remember opposites attract sometimes, and try to think of compatibility as a gradual scale as opposed to a black and white template
Some say this is a pseudoscience at best and there is no hard data to back these claims. I personally have found it to be quite accurate and spookily precise at times. I think like anything else, though, the more you look into it and practice it, the more you will experience valid results.
Anyway Astrology is just another useful tool to help you understand the hidden world around you - and on this occasion, possibly give you a leg up on relationships ; )
Check this site out for a great introduction on Astrology, complete with daily horoscopes, sign descriptions, and YES - compatibility ratings : )
Happy Valentines Day, everyone! ... Spring is Coming... Stay safe out there - and as always
